![]() I believe no one will really hate Starfield’s sound tuning. Starfield has been burned in for more than 72 hours with ISOTek Burn-in CD, Cascade Burn-in and regular listening. I have paired Moondrop Starfield with mainly Tempotec V-1 and Sonata HD Pro, JDS Labs The Element, M2 Tech Marley II, Stoner Acoustics EGD and UD125. Can we just jump into audio quality? I am getting a little boring talking about something that everyone already knows. The included accessories are nothing to shout about, but I like the included casing, the gold colour zip and letter on the housing is a nice touch, which looks quite unique and premium to my eyes. Rated at 32 ohms and 122 dB/Vrms, this is not an IEM that is difficult to drive. The housing is actually made by Zinc aluminium alloy which feels weighty and substantial in hand, despite the weight and contacts, it is quite a comfortable and stay nicely in my ears. However, it still looks beautiful, and I have no complaint about that. ![]() The cable is what Moondrop called 24AWG Litz 4N OFC cable, the insulation is in blue colour to match the colour of Starfield’s housing, if you look at the official pictures online there is some blue stardust like colour coated at the cable’s insulation, the stardust like pattern is actually quite tricky to spot with naked eyes, unless you illuminated it directly by torchlight. Even from the look, Starfield looks interesting enough like the name ‘Starfield’ suggested, it is painted in a Starry blue colour in the shiny coating, the looks are quite unique and I like the paint job here. It is not using multiple drivers nor any Hybrid setup, but bear in mind that we the amount and configuration of the driver rarely means anything. Moondrop Starfield is using a Carbon Nanotube Diaphragm, which is a 10mm Dual Cavity Dynamic Driver. ![]() Personally, I have never listened to any of those, but Moondrop has been regarded as Chi-Fi brand that is well known and following close to Harman Sound Target, I am eager to test it out. Moondrop Starfield (109USD) was announced in December 2019, with the success of the Kanas Pro and KXXS, I am really eager to test the Starfield, Starfield is very similar sounding when compared to the KXXS (189 USD), which makes the 109USD Starfield seems like a great and rational purchase. ![]() The review will be written in an unbiased and honest manner as possible as usual. Review unit will be sent back to them after the review. *Stars Picker Audio Library sent a brand new unit as their demo unit is always occupied and busy, we really appreciated their contribution and willingness to lend us a review unit without asking for anything back in return. ![]()
